Abstract
Summary: We report on a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus who developed a shrinking lung syndrome. The dyspnoea of the patient and the results of pulmonary function tests significantly improved during treatment with theophylline 750 mg daily. This is the first report of a successful treatment of the shrinking lung syndrome with theophylline.
